500 YOUTH TO BENEFIT FROM PETRONAS BRUNEI’S
SCHOOL OF LIFE PROGRAMME

PETRONAS Carigali Brunei Ltd (PCBL) successfully launched its second year of the PETRONAS School of Life programme, which will educate about 500 youth on essential life skills beyond the classroom.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by PCBL, which will be conducted by Curious Mind, was officiated by the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education, Yang Mulia Dr Hj Azman bin Ahmad.
Among the distinguished guests who attended the launching event were His Excellency Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, Yang Mulia Hj Zakaria bin Hj Serudin, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports, Yang Mulia Pg Jamra Weira bin Pg Petra, Acting Permanent Secretary, Department of Energy in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Head of the Institutions.
PCBL Country Head, Mohd Johan Ariff Mohd Supian said: “We are encouraged to continue the PETRONAS School of Life programme this year after witnessing significant changes in the lives of those who attended the programme last year.
“At PETRONAS, we believe in improving the lives of the communities where we operate and this programme helps to empower youth with greater self-esteem and social-emotional skills which are vital to pave their ways ahead as future leaders,” he added
The programme, which will commence from 5 August until 25 November 2022, consists of 20 topics, divided into five key modules which include Change & Adaptation, Career, Community & Environment, Entrepreneurship and Communications.
The sessions will be facilitated by the Founder of Curious Mind’s founder, Shaun Hoon and will be conducted at participating institutions namely Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Politeknik Brunei.
